A medium-sized supply chain management solution and health care management system provider.The company was affected by talent drain and attrition. A critical factor in ensuring a successful rollout and implementation was the ability of the employees to use the new system effectively and to their benefit, in the performance of their jobs. The provision of timely, focused learning and development was a primary influence in the successful implementation of the new working systems and prevention of talent drain.
The Challenge
The company wanted to initiate training and development for its employees to bring in a productive and learned work culture. Competency mapping was the need of the hour. Clarity of the skill sets to be imparted and the span of time required was the major challenge ahead, besides extending the entire service through an outsourced delivery system.
The Solution
Through our Managed Training Service initiative approach we studied the entire organization process, including information sharing procedures, operations process, project management process, risk management process, MIS process, recruitment process, existing training and mentoring, career development, marketing support, compensation, gap analysis across all departments and sales methodologies. Rather than simply producing a "training solution" based on the outcome of the gap analysis of all departments, we looked at the entire system and how the staff were equipped to do their jobs. Subsequently, we conducted a Training Needs Analysis program across the company to determine and validate its training needs before commencing the outsourced service delivery. Once the needs were identified, we provided a Senior Consultant and Project Manager at the client's location, to manage and lead its team in the design and development of learning and development program materials combined with reviewed processes to support the client's requirements.
